ABOUT US
Promoting the Rights of Every Child
Dr Jemma Levy is an educational and child psychologist working in London. She trained at University College London (UCL) on the doctorate course and completed research on using Lego Therapy for students with autism.
Dr Levy is truly passionate about children and young people with Special Educational Needs and believes that every child has strengths that can be uncovered and used to help their learning. Through a psychological assessment the child’s strengths and areas of need can be used to devise a comprehensive intervention plan, ensuring that the child has the right support to reach their full potential.
Dr Levy has worked with children and young people with a range of needs (including learning difficulties, dyslexia, dyscalculia, language difficulties, memory difficulties and behavioural difficulties). She enjoys working with the child and their family to ensure the correct support is in place to overcome any barriers to learning. Dr Levy has a specialist interest in autism spectrum disorders and is particularly interested in post-diagnosis support. For example, she runs parent training programmes and social skill groups for students with autism. Dr Levy also works in a therapeutic manner with the child or young person, using principles of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to assist students with autism to overcome emotional wellbeing difficulties such as anger and anxiety.
